Jonnie Dean Joanie Dean - Principal

Joanie Dean received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education from Teachers College at Columbia University in New York, and a Master of Education in Leadership for Educational Change from Bank Street College of Education in New York. Joanie began her career teaching math and chemistry as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon, Africa for two years. Then, as a Peace Corps Fellow Scholar at Teachers College, she taught mathematics at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn for two years. Prior to coming to AB, she worked at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in New York City for 21 years. There, she was the Head of the Upper School (Principal) for three years, the Assistant Director (Assistant Principal) for two years, the Dean of Academics for eight years, and the Head of the Math Department for 16 years.

   Jen Hagopian - Assistant Principal


Jen Hagopian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in English from Union College (NY), a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Salem State University and Administrator Licensure from Curry College. Jen worked as a Special Education Teacher for two years at Reading Memorial High School before moving into her role of School Counselor for five years in Reading. In addition to her role as School Counselor, Jen served as the Varsity Girls Soccer coach at Reading High School for five years. Jen joined ABRHS as a School Counselor in 2019 and served as a Co-Advisor for the Ambassador Program and Co-Chair of the NEASC Accreditation Process. 

As an Assistant Principal, Jen collaborates with Marisa Anderson (School Adjustment Counselor), Stephen Hitzrot (School Counselor), and Sara Clinton (School Counselor) and supports all students on their caseloads.


Emily Mullin - Assistant Principal

Emily Mullin received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Northwestern University and a Masters of Education from Boston College. She began her career in education as a junior high school English Language Arts teacher in the Chicago area. In 2006, she joined the AB English Department, teaching freshmen and sophomores. Emily moved to London, England, in 2010, where she taught English in both the middle and upper divisions of the American School in London. When she returned to America after three years abroad, she came back to AB as an English teacher to students in Grades 9 and 12.
Emily joined the AB Admin Team in 2024.



Tina Vanasse - Assistant Principal

 

Tina Vanasse received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Harvard, a Masters of Education degree in Education Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State College. Ms. Vanasse taught at Miss Porter’s School in Connecticut and Bridge Over Troubled Waters in Boston before serving as the Assistant Director of Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School in Lowell. A long-time resident of Acton and graduate of Chelmsford High School, Ms Vanasse has been working at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School since 2012.
