The Rev Report - March 13, 2026
Dear ABRHS Community,
On Monday, the AB Students for Equity and Justice (ABSEJ) Club hosted a Student Spotlight Series featuring the experiences of our multilingual students. We also enjoyed amazing chorus, orchestra, and band concerts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings! It was wonderful to hear all the AB musicians from elementary through high school.
We can’t wait for our first Junior Prom in a long time tonight at Devens, and best of luck to our Science Team, Jazz Band, Winter Colorguard, and Proscenium Circus this weekend at their competitions and performances.
Student Spotlight Series - Multilingual Students
We enjoyed hearing the stories and experiences of our multilingual students earlier this week. Students shared that they appreciate all of the activities at the high school. Students expressed gratitude for their kind and caring teachers. They also like it when teachers encourage them and believe that they can do well. We applaud our multilingual students for sharing their perspectives and for all their contributions to our community.
Senior Community Service Day - Friday, April 17
On Friday, April 17, the Class of 2026 will experience AB’s 32nd annual Senior Community Service Day. On this day, there will be over 400 seniors raking, painting, cleaning, and gardening at over 50 service project sites in Acton and Boxborough. Senior Community Service Day builds strong bridges in the community as our soon-to-be graduates celebrate the end of their high school years. Every senior is expected to participate, and the Registration and Permission Forms are due on Friday, March 27.
Cell Phone Cubbies Reminder
As I reminded students during the morning announcements, we know that frequent cell phone use is not healthy. We want everyone to focus on connections with people, not devices. We reminded students that they must put their phones in the cell phone cubbies in each class, as we have recently noticed more students using phones when students are taking excused bathroom or water breaks from class. Staff will continue to remind students of this rule, and we appreciate your cooperation.
Senior Prom Ticket Sales - Monday, March 16 to Thursday, March 19, during lunches
Senior Prom will be held on Friday, May 1, at Danversport Yacht Club. Ticket sales will be this Monday, March 16 to Thursday, March 19, during all lunches in Room 115N. Please read the Class of 2026 Prom Packet and the Prom Ticket Information.
Anticipated Openings, including Robotics Teacher
Please spread the word about our anticipated openings listed in this document. In particular, we are looking forward to starting a Robotics Program next year. Please reach out to me or share the application instructions if you know of anyone interested in being a Robotics Teacher.
Lunch Rotation and Junior & Senior Return to School
We began our third lunch rotation of the year on Monday. Unfortunately, the three shifts are not well-balanced, and we will be making adjustments to the schedule next week. Students should stay tuned for an update. Additionally, when juniors and seniors return from lunch to school, they are required to sign in (even if there are many people in line) so that we know who is in our building. Students are expected to treat others with respect and follow all school rules during lunch, in our parking lots, and upon return to the building.
College Scholarships
The Counseling Center has a list of college scholarships available to all students. Visit the Counseling Website to learn more.
Course Registration for 2026 - 2027 due March 23
The PowerSchool Portal opened on Wednesday for next year’s course selection process that will run through March 23. Here are the Student Course Selection and Override Instructions. All information can be found under the Course Registration tab on the ABRHS website.
As students think about next year, we encourage them to explore their interests and ensure balance in their overall schedules. Conversations with teachers, counselors, and families can be especially helpful. Here is the 2026-2027 Program of Studies and Visual and Performing Arts Supplement. Additionally, we have many new courses to consider, including our new 9th through 12th grade offerings of Robotics classes. Please know that registration is not done on a first-come, first-served basis. As long as you register by March 23, you have met the deadline for registration.

MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) Testing - ELA, March 24 and 25
Although MCAS is no longer a requirement for graduation, all students are still required to complete the test. Current 10th Graders will take the ELA (English Language Arts), Mathematics, and Science MCAS exams this spring. All tests are computer-based and will be taken on student-issued AB Chromebooks according to the schedule below.
ELA Sessions – March 24 and 25
Mathematics Sessions – May 19 and 20
Science Sessions – June 2 and 3
All testing sessions will start at 8:00 am. There is a three-hour testing window planned for each. If a student does not finish an exam within the testing window, they will be allowed to continue working as needed up until the end of the school day. Student tutorials, practice tests, and reference sheets can be found on the MCAS website. For students in grades 9, 11, and 12, we will follow a late start schedule on all six testing days.
