The Rev Report - June 12, 2026

Posted Date: 06/12/26 (06:19 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

Last Friday, we held our Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2026 on Leary Field. It was a wonderful celebration of our 413 seniors and the entire AB Community. Congratulations to all of our graduates!

As 9th through 11th graders wrap up their final full week of school, we are looking forward to the remaining days of the year. Our final day is Thursday, June 25, which will include all classes and our 4th Annual Step Up Day Celebration.

This Week

  • The last performance for our Performing Arts Department was the Orquesta de la Revolución’s visit to the Acton Boxborough Cultural Council (ABCC) on Wednesday. We are grateful to the ABCC for supporting our Latin American and Caribbean music ensemble with a grant.

  • Congratulations to our Boys Lacrosse Team for making it to the Final Four after a come-from-behind win last Saturday against Bishop Feehan. The Lacrosse Team played their last game on Tuesday against Lincoln Sudbury at Burlington High School.

Leadership Coalition to Promote an Inclusive Community

Thank you to all those who attended our first meeting last Monday. It was inspiring to hear from students, staff, and community members about their interests and perspectives on goals and priorities for next year. We will plan to meet on the second Monday of every month, and our next meeting will be Monday, September 14, from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. All are welcome.

Robotics Competition Enthusiasts Information Session

We are launching FIRST Robotics (FTC & FRC) teams for 2026-2027. Join us Thursday, June 18, in Room 156W to meet our new teacher, Mr. Scott, and discuss upcoming plans. Open to students, parents, and community members of all experience levels. Sessions: 3:00 PM or 6:00 PM. Contact Ms. Vanasse (cvanasse@abschools.org) for details.

Last Day of School and Coursework

Due to our four snow days this year, we will have school until Thursday, June 25. It is expected that all students attend school through June 25, as their coursework will continue until that time. If families plan for students to miss more than two school days between now and June 25, students are asked to contact their Assistant Principal to make a plan to complete coursework and to comply with our Attendance and Credit Loss Policy.

End-of-Year Items

All textbooks, uniforms, library books, and any other required materials must be returned before the end of the school year. Students should clean out their school lockers and take all their belongings from locker rooms. All items left will be donated. Please also carefully read the End-of-Year Chromebook Information and follow the requested procedures.

Last Day of School, Step-Up Day and Half Day, Thursday, June 25, Dismissal at 11:22 am

Thursday, June 25 is our last day of school. It will be a half-day, and students will be dismissed at 11:22 am. We will have all class blocks and our annual Step-Up Celebration in the middle of the morning.

Class of 2027 - Senior Portraits

Students in the Class of 2027 can now book Senior Portrait Sessions with Mark Lawrence Photographers. Sessions will be at ABRHS from July 20 to July 24 and August 10 to 14. Check your email for a message from Mark Lawrence Photographers for more details.

Student Parking

Beginning on June 8, juniors may park in the Senior Lot. Next school year, juniors must purchase a parking permit to park in this lot. For everyone’s safety, students may not sit in cars individually or in groups.

Fall Athletics

Please check our Athletics Website for specific information about Fall Athletics Registration and Tryouts. All fall team tryouts & practices start Monday, August 24, and attendance at tryouts is mandatory.

Students trying out for any team must sign up using Family ID before the first day of tryouts. (Click on the ABRHS Fall Sports 2025 Registration link at the bottom.) Proof of a physical exam, signed and dated by a valid medical provider, must be submitted before the first day of tryouts. Please email physicals to School Nurses Colleen McGovern or Erin Doherty as soon as possible at cmcgovern@abschoools.org or edoherty@abschools.org.

Enjoy the weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Dean, ABRHS Principal
