The Rev Report - May 22, 2026
Dear ABRHS Community,
This was a week of community celebrations! On Tuesday, we had our 3rd Annual Community-Building Flex Block. Congratulations to the entire Flex Block Committee for putting together such an amazing schoolwide event. There were over 50 workshops run by students, staff, and community members. I visited musicians playing in the Jazz Jam Session, students planting in the Great Pollinator garden, and teachers sharing their stories in the AB Staff Spotlight Panel.
Then, on Wednesday evening, we held our 34th Annual Scholarship Night. Thank you to the many organizations, families, and individuals from Acton and Boxborough for donating 155 scholarships, totaling over $150,000 to support the Class of 2026! We are so proud of our students and very grateful to our generous community. I'd also like to extend a huge thank you to our Scholarship Committee for organizing such a memorable evening.
From now until the end of the school year, we will be busy celebrating our students and school. I hope that you can take some time over this Memorial Day holiday to slow down, relax, and enjoy this three-day weekend.
Memorial Day - Monday, May 25
In honor of Memorial Day, we will not have school on Monday. We salute all those who have given their lives in service to our country. There will be Memorial Day Parades in both Acton and Boxborough, and the AB Marching Band will perform at the Acton Parade.
Eid al-Adha - Wednesday, May 27
Eid al-Adha, known as the Festival of the Sacrifice, is one of the two major Islamic holidays. It is observed by Muslims worldwide with communal prayers, charitable giving, and sharing food among family, friends, and those in need. Eid Mubarak.
Senior Clap-Out Ceremony - Friday, May 29
Next week marks the final week for our Senior Class. At the end of the day on Friday, May 29, students in grades 9 through 11 will line the sidewalks outside to clap for the seniors as they leave the building. We are looking forward to our 3rd Annual Clap-out Ceremony to say goodbye and thank the Class of 2026 for making AB a better place.
Yearbooks
All 12th graders, and students in grades 9 through 11 who ordered a yearbook, can pick up their yearbook in Mrs. Keefe’s office, Room 133E.
AB Project Graduation
For over 34 years, AB Project Graduation has hosted a substance-free Grad Night for AB Seniors. We thank the volunteers, donors, and entire community for working to keep our graduates safe on Graduation Night. We encourage parents of underclassmen to volunteer as a way to ‘pay it forward’ before your child’s graduation year.
Class of 2026 Information
We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 at Graduation on Friday, June 5! Seniors and families, please take a look at the following important information:
Recognitions
Congratulations to our Softball, Boys Lacrosse, and Boys Track and Field Teams on their DCL Championships! We are also proud of our 3rd Quarter Vision of A Graduate Honorees announced Thursday (see picture below). These students exemplified our values of adaptability, communication, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and integrity. Finally, we are proud of Claire Chimento and Victoria Thermidor for representing AB at the Massachusetts Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day this week.
Class Leaders and Student Council Representatives Elections
We will have elections for Class Leaders and Student Council Representatives on June 3 for 9th and 10th graders and on June 8 for 11th graders. In preparation for the elections, all those interested in becoming a Class Leader or Student Council Representative must attend a mandatory workshop. At the workshop, we will discuss the requirements, expectations, and timeline for participation in this spring's elections. Please visit this link today to see the schedule and sign up.
High School Coalition to Promote an Inclusive Community
We are forming a High School Leadership Coalition to Promote an Inclusive Community. We want to bring students, educators, families, and community members from across our school community together to continue building an inclusive and equitable community and to collaborate in addressing incidents of hate and bias.
An introductory meeting will be held on Monday, June 8 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm in Conference Room 115N at the ABRHS. During this meeting, participants will consider goals and priorities for the coming year, plan a meeting schedule, and explore strategies for building a representative Coalition. All are welcome to attend. If you plan to attend, please RSVP using this form.
Conversations with a Counselor Webinar
In case you missed it, the recording of the most recent installment of Conversations with Counselor Webinar: College Search and Applications Q&A is available here. Recordings of all of our previous programs in this series are available under Post Secondary planning in the Counseling Section of the high school website. Thank you to our Counseling Department for these informative presentations!
Summer Reading
Please take a moment to browse our Summer Staff and Young Adult Reading Lists and enjoy a good book this summer!
Have a nice Memorial Day Weekend!
Sincerely,
Ms. Dean, ABRHS Principal
