Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

The Rev Report - April 10, 2026

Posted Date: 04/10/26 (07:03 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

As we begin the fourth and final term at the high school this week, all of our end-of-year rituals and celebrations are starting to take shape. We had our National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Tuesday evening. Next week, we are excited for some friendly competition between Assistant Principal (AP) Teams, with competitions every day during lunch. Additionally, over the past two weeks, all of our juniors met in counseling groups to discuss post-secondary planning. We are also looking forward to our annual AB Band Swing Night tonight and the Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk tomorrow. Finally, I hope everyone enjoys a bit of sunny weather this weekend!

Congratulations to ABRHS 20-Year Chair Recipients

Congratulations to Tim Bassett (Math), Kristen Ervick (Social Studies), Dan Goldner (English), and Ray Kallagher (Math) for being honored by the union for their 20 years of service to AB students and the community. They each received a 20-year chair and were recognized for all their contributions during their time here. Every year, I love hearing all the wonderful (and funny) stories of our staff who have been with AB for 20 years!

Swing Into Spring - Friday, April 10, 7:00 pm, Stearns Gym

Join us for the annual Swing Into Spring Swing Night tonight in the Stearns Lower Gym. There will be live jazz music from the RJ Grey and ABRHS Jazz Bands, Soft Touch Big Band, and AB Orquesta de la Revolución. Tickets will be sold at the door: $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults. Light refreshments included.

Out of the Darkness Campus Walk - Tomorrow, April 11 at 10:00 a.m.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, a leading cause of death. We are proud to support suicide prevention awareness by hosting this annual walk. Registration will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the walk at 10:00 am. Register here: www.AFSP.org/Acton

Congratulations to the 2025 Boston Globe Winter All-Scholastic Athletes

The following athletes earned the distinction of being named to the 2025 Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team: Riley Bergeron (Hockey), Brendan Koh (Swimming), Hannah Ridley (Gymnastics), Matthew Krieger (Nordic Skiing), and Liam Garnett (Nordic Skiing).

Graduation Day & Prom Outfit Pop-Up Store

Seniors seeking free formal wear for the Senior Prom or Graduation should visit the Prom Pop-Up Boutique, located in the AB Resource Center at the Admin Building, 16 Charter Road, before it closes on Thursday, April 16. Please note the store is open on Monday’s Early Release Day until 3:00 pm and on Wednesday until 7:00 pm.

Student Chromebooks Update

Recently, we learned that students are able to log into personal Gmail accounts on their Chromebooks, which can provide access to YouTube and other sites that we have restricted in their abschools Gmail accounts. To address this, our EdTech Team will restrict personal emails on Chromebooks. However, because our 11th and 12th graders are encouraged to use their personal Gmail accounts for the college process, we will begin the restriction for 9th and 10th graders only starting Monday. We will continue to work to find ways to make our systems function to support our educational needs. We believe this change will help our younger students stay focused and avoid the temptation of YouTube.

Senior Community Service Day - Friday, April 17

We are excited for Senior Community Service Day, next Friday, April 17. Seniors will meet in the morning for their Senior Breakfast before heading to their assigned site locations. We are very proud of this tradition of our seniors giving back to the Acton and Boxborough communities during their final months here.

Senior Community Service Day is mandatory for all seniors. Students who are not signed up should reach out to Ms. Mullin or Ms. Hagopian as soon as possible. Those absent will be marked unexcused unless they are formally excused by a parent or caregiver.

Summer School Update

This summer, we will offer PE classes. Registration will open on April 30. Please visit this website for more information. Students who may need credit recovery during the summer should reach out to their assistant principal.

Next Year’s Robotics Program

Many students requested Robotics during our recent course registration process, and we are excited to launch a Robotics Program next year. If you know of anyone who might be interested in being a Robotics Teacher, please have them email me.
