The Rev Report - April 2, 2026

Posted Date: 04/02/26 (06:20 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

By the end of the day today, everyone was ready for the long weekend ahead! This was the last week of the third term of the school year, so students were focused on doing their best in all their classes. A highlight of this week was the Class of 2027 Duct Tape Fundraiser, where students could buy $1 pieces of duct tape and “tape” Mr. Scanlon, Ms. Hoag, Mr. Morris, or me to the wall. Funds raised will go towards their Senior Prom next year. Kudos to the 11th Graders for this creative idea and thanks to ACE Hardware for sponsoring this event!

Even with the rainy weather today, we were excited for our first Unified Track Meet of the season on Leary Field. Also, best of luck to our musicians performing at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festival and the UMass Jazz Festival this weekend. Finally, on Sunday, the AB Band is playing the national anthem at the Red Sox game!

Passover - April 1 through April 9

The Jewish holiday of Passover began last night, and it will last until the evening of April 9. This is one of three major pilgrimage festivals of ancient Israel and commemorates the Exodus from Egypt. Thank you to our Jewish Student Union (JSU) for sharing delicious matzah bark at lunch today. Happy Passover!

Good Friday, April 3, and Easter, April 5

Tomorrow we will not have school in honor of the Christian holiday, Good Friday. Good Friday is a day marked with prayer, and the celebration of Easter follows on Sunday. Happy Easter!

Team Awards and Recognitions

Congratulations to the Math Team for their first place finish at the Massachusetts Association of Mathematics League (MAML) State Championship last weekend. We are also proud of AB Speech and Debate for their third place finish in the sweepstakes category at the Massachusetts State Debate Tournament.

Visual and Performing Arts Updates

March is a special time of year when arts organizations and school systems around the United States celebrate the contributions of student artists in their school communities. At AB, every month feels like Arts in Our Schools Month, but it's worth noting the particularly high number of performances, accomplishments, and presentations of our hard-working AB artists in our March 2026 Visual and Performing Arts Newsletter.

Summer School Update

This summer, we will offer PE classes. Registration will open on April 30. Please visit this website for more information. Students who may need credit recovery during the summer should reach out to their assistant principal.
