The Rev Report - January 16, 2026

Posted Date: 01/16/26 (07:29 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be no school this Monday, January 19. During his lifetime, Dr. King worked tirelessly to promote racial justice, leading through service to his community and country. We will also honor Dr. King’s legacy at our 26th Annual Community Service Awards Ceremony on Monday, January 26.

I would also like to share that students and staff are working hard in order finish our first semester strong. We will begin our second semester this Thursday, January 22. Congratulations to everyone on an excellent first half of the school year.

Mr. Cacciola, AB Athletic Trainer, was named NBC 10 Hometown MVP

Monday’s NBC 10 Morning featured our very own Mr. C (Cacciola). Please watch this segment, and congratulations, Mr. C!

Fall Athletic Awards

Congratulations to Sara Ryan for being awarded both a Boston Herald and Boston Globe All-Scholastic Award for Field Hockey! Jon Funk should also be congratulated for being an All-State Football All-Star.

AB Science Fair - Friday, January 17, 8:15 - 9:00 pm, Cafeteria

Join us tonight to celebrate our 115 Science Research students and their impressive projects. The Science Fair is open to visitors, including families and children, from 8:15 - 9:00 pm.

Athletic Events Fan Expectations

We love spirited AB fans cheering positively for our team at athletic events. We want to remind everyone of the AB Spectator Expectations our Athletic Director, Mr. Scanlon, shared earlier today, and thank you for representing AB well.

Alumni Connections Program

Last week, our Counseling Department sponsored a panel of alumni who spoke about their AB education and subsequent career and professional paths after high school. Speakers shared valuable advice for our students, including:

  • Use college as a time to explore your interests and learn more about yourself.

  • AB prepares students very well for college. You'll definitely see this when you get there.

  • Get to know your professors early on. Go to office hours–they are there to help you.

  • Explore internships and other opportunities to get work experience. They are valuable to learn about yourself and what you like to do. It also helps when looking for a permanent job later.

  • Surround yourself with friends who want the best for you

If you were unable to attend, you can view the event here: Alumni Connections

9th Grade Counseling Groups

This week, on Thursday and Friday, our 9th graders met in groups with counselors during their English classes. They discussed many important topics, including building relationships, course selection, available academic and social-emotional supports, extracurricular opportunities, and high school transcripts.

On March 13, AB will hold our first Junior Prom at the Devens Common Center! We ask that juniors complete this form so we know if you are considering attending or would like to help us plan. Email Mrs. Root (sroot@abschools.org ) or Mrs. Moser-Wight (cmoser-wight@abschools.org) with questions.

Hygiene Drive during January

AB Human Rights/Girl Up/UNICEF is hosting a Hygiene Drive this January to help all members of our community meet their basic hygiene needs. The club is accepting donations of products such as tampons, pads, new undergarments, and toiletries.

Parking Restrictions

Juniors should park only at Lower Fields or Pump House. No students are allowed to park in staff spots. Thank you for your attention to these rules.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,
