The Rev Report - December 12, 2025

Posted Date: 12/12/25 (04:23 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

I saw the Proscenium Circus production of Chicago yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing! I encourage you to see one of the remaining performances tonight or tomorrow. In addition, we have Boys Basketball, Boys Hockey, Boys Swim and Dive, Girls and Boys Indoor Track, and Speech and Debate competitions, making this overall a very busy weekend. Go AB!

Hanukkah

The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah begins this Sunday night, December 14. We are looking forward to enjoying latkes brought to us by our Jewish Student Union next Friday at lunch. Happy Hanukkah!

Winter Concert - Band, Chorus & Orchestra, Tuesday, December 16, 7:00 pm, Auditorium

We are looking forward to our Winter Band, Chorus, and Orchestra Concert next Tuesday. Please join us for a wonderful celebration of our musical ensembles!

Cultural Colors Day

Thanks to the Human Rights Council for hosting our first-ever Cultural Colors Day on Tuesday. Many students wore clothes in their cultural colors and also made bracelets with colors representing their identities. This sparked many meaningful conversations and forged new connections among students in our community.

Midpoint of Quarter 2

We have reached the midpoint of the second quarter of the school year. At this time, we encourage students and families to view current grades in the PowerSchool Portal. Students should use this information to reflect on their progress, set targeted goals for improvement, and engage in dialogue with their teachers about their learning. Quarter 2 will end on January 21, and grades will be issued in early February. Students should reach out to teachers if there are any questions about grades and share this information with their families. If questions remain, families should then reach out to teachers.

AP (Assistant Principal) Team Competition - Snowflake Competition

We are excited to share the next AP Team Competition starting Monday, in which students will search for AB snowflakes hidden around the building. Bring them to the Admin Office to win AP Team points.

Student Focus Group Meeting on Artificial Intelligence - Thursday, December 18, 3:00 pm

We are looking to better understand how students understand and use artificial intelligence. Currently, our High School and District Artificial Intelligence Task Forces are developing artificial intelligence guidance for our schools, and we would like to incorporate student perspectives into this work. All students are invited to attend a focus group next Thursday, December 18 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in Room 115N.

Winter Athletic Season Expectations

We are excited to begin our Winter Athletics with Alpine and Nordic Skiing, Gymnastics, Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Track, Girls and Boys Hockey, Wrestling, Fencing, and Boys Swim and Dive. As always, we expect athletes, students, and fans to represent AB well at all activities and events. Let’s have a great season!

Food Drive by Food Awareness Club

The ABRHS Food Awareness Club is hosting a non-perishable food drive in the lobby through Monday, December 15. The Acton Food Pantry is asking for sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, boxed baking mixes, shampoo, and Band-Aids. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Have an enjoyable weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Dean, ABRHS Principal
