The Rev Report - October 10, 2025

Posted Date: 10/10/25 (7:52 PM)

Dear ABRHS Community,

On Monday, we will not have school in honor of  Indigenous Peoples’ Day. On Tuesday, we are looking forward to our first-ever PSAT and Community Day. We are happy that we will be able to offer the PSAT to all 11th graders during the school day this year. The 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will engage in field trips and workshops. We are excited to offer these opportunities for experiential learning.

We are also looking forward to seeing parents and caregivers next Thursday night at 6:30 pm for Back to School Night. Classes will start promptly at 6:30 pm, and parking can be quite full. We encourage you to arrive with enough time to make it to your first class!

Indigenous Peoples’ Day - Monday, October 13

On  Monday, we will not have school in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We acknowledge and celebrate the resilience, traditions, and invaluable contributions of Indigenous people to our country.

Recent Incidents at the High School

I shared this message with our community yesterday about incidents involving racist and antisemitic messages and symbols in bathrooms at the high school this past week. These incidents are profoundly hurtful to our community and antithetical to the values of inclusion and respect we uphold as a school.

We will continue to work towards making our school inclusive and safe for all individuals. We believe education is crucial. Our students and staff engage in Hate & Bias Training, and staff will continue to foster inclusion, interrupt biased comments and actions, and educate students. Students and families are encouraged to reach out to counselors, administrators, and trusted adults should they want support or to talk about these incidents. We appreciate your commitment and partnership as we work to combat antisemitism and racism in our schools.

Midpoint of Quarter 1

We have reached the midpoint of the first quarter of the school year. At this time, we encourage students and families to view current grades in the PowerSchool Portal. Students should use this information to reflect on their progress, set targeted goals for improvement, and engage in dialogue with their teachers about their learning. Quarter 1 will end on October 31, and grades will be issued in mid-November. Students should reach out to teachers if there are any questions about grades and share this information with their families. If questions remain, families should then reach out to teachers.

PSAT and Community Day - Tuesday, October 14

We are looking forward to our PSAT and Community Day on Tuesday. 10th Graders and 12th Graders going on field trips to Fenway, UMass Amherst, and UMass Dartmouth should dress appropriately for the weather, as it looks like it could be a rainy day.  Feel free to bring a raincoat and umbrella. Tardiness to School

We know it is important for students to start their school day on time. If students arrive after 8:00 am, they are required to check in at the Main Office for a late pass. Teachers will send students to the Main Office for a pass if they walk into class late.

After their first unexcused tardy, students will receive a warning and will be provided with a review of the tardy policy. After their second unexcused tardy, families will receive communication and a reminder of our expectations. The third and subsequent tardies to school may involve possible detentions or loss of campus privileges. The "tardy count" will reset at the start of each quarter.

A parent/caregiver should call (978) 254-3300 x41001, email hsattendance@abschools.org, or send in a signed note with the student to bring to the main office to excuse a student. Parents/caregivers have until 11:00 am to excuse a tardy to school.

Parent Drop-Off at KinderCare

It has come to our attention that some students are being dropped off in the KinderCare parking lot on Hayward Drive. This parking lot is not to be used for student drop-off, and we appreciate your understanding.
