Dear ABRHS Community,

We honored our First Responders at the AB Football Game last Friday night. Thank you to all first responders for their service to our community! Additionally, our Athletic Trainer, Mr. Cacciola (known as Mr. C), was awarded the Athletic Trainer of the Year Award for MIAA District 4. Additionally, today, we learned that AB’s Ms. Turner was named the 2024-2025 MIAA Girls Swim and Dive Coach of the Year. Congratulations, Mr. C and Ms. Turner!

Students in all grades did a good job with our bus evacuation drills today. We have now completed at least one of each type of safety drill. Finally, please join us next Thursday for our first Unified Home Basketball Game at 4:00 pm in Regan Gym! We are very proud of our Unified team!

Fall Athletic Team Picture Days - October 9 and October 17

The following teams will have their Yearbook Team Pictures taken by Mark Lawrence on Thursday, October 9: Unified Basketball, Football, Boys Cross Country, Field Hockey, Boys Soccer, and Volleyball. These teams will have their Yearbook Team Pictures taken on Friday, October 17: Golf, Girls Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Cheer, and Swim & Dive. Coaches will share specific times for each team.

Back to School Night - Thursday, October 16, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Our annual Back to School Night for parents and caregivers will take place on Thursday, October 16, beginning at 6:30 pm. Parents and caregivers will follow student schedules and have the opportunity to meet teachers and learn about the courses. We will send Back to School Night schedules and instructions via email the week of October 14..

9th Grade Parent and Caregiver Night - Wednesday, October 22, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Auditorium

On Wednesday, October 22, we will host the 9th Grade Parent & Caregiver presentation from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. At this meeting, counselors and administrators will share information and insights about the high school experience here at AB.

Junior Class Raking Day - Monday, November 10 from 10:00 am to noon

The Class of 2027 is organizing a community service project on November 10 (a no-school day), with the Acton and Boxborough Councils on Aging. Students will help senior citizens with raking and yard clean-up. All juniors are invited to participate in this annual tradition and will receive an email with details on how to sign up. Registration will open this Monday, October 6, and the deadline is October 28. Questions about Junior Class Raking Day can be directed to Mrs. Root (sroot@abschools.org) and Mrs. Moser-Wight (cmoser-wight@abschools.org).

Student IDs

Students will receive their student IDs in English classes at the end of next week. Students should keep IDs with them at all times and use them when they sign into school after 8:00 am.

Vision of a Graduate Design Deadline October 10 - Extension

We are looking for original artwork from students that captures the values, competencies, and aspirations of an Acton-Boxborough graduate. Please see our newly adopted AB Vision of a Graduate. The first deadline for submission is extended to next Friday, October 10. Read more about the process here, and please consider submitting a design for our Vision of a Graduate!

Library News - Sign up for a Public Library Card, October 8

Public librarians will join us in the Library next Wednesday, October 8 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Stop by to sign up for your library cards, learn about upcoming programs, and earn points for your AP Team!
