The Rev Report - September 19, 2025
Dear ABRHS Students and Families,
Now that we are at the end of our third full week of school, students are fully immersed in their classes and activities. Our 12th graders met in counseling groups to learn about post-secondary school planning, and students in all grades worked hard studying for their first set of assessments this week. We are looking forward to our 9th grade elections and 12th grade class assembly on Wednesday, as well as a visit from South Korean students from Gyeongsan Science High School on Thursday.
Rosh Hashanah, September 22 through September 24
Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of Monday, September 22 and will last until the evening of Wednesday, September 24. Rosh Hashanah, one of the most holy days in the Jewish religion, is a celebration of the new year. We will not have school on Tuesday, September 23 in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year to those celebrating!
Unified Champion School Recognition
AB has once again been named a Unified Champion School! We are honored to be recognized by Special Olympics Massachusetts as a 2024-2025 Unified Champion School. Our AB Unified team’s first home basketball game of the season is on Thursday, October 9 at 3:30 pm in the Regan Gym vs Nashoba Regional High School.
ALICE Drill - Wednesday, September 24 at 8:30 am
We will have an ALICE Drill next Wednesday, September 24 at 8:30 am. As a reminder, we activate our ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) protocols during a situation involving an active threat. Prior to the drill, we will share another message with families and students.
Staff Supervision at the High School This School Year
We have nearly 1650 students in a large building with three Commons, a large cafeteria, two gyms, a large library, many bathrooms, and long hallways. Last year, there were several situations during free periods and the long lunch block that would have greatly benefited from adult supervision. If you walk around the halls of the high school this year, you will notice more staff members in the cafeteria, outside bathrooms, and around the hallways to help with overall supervision of these areas.

Vision of a Graduate Design Submission Deadline
We are looking for original artwork from students that captures the values, competencies, and aspirations of an Acton-Boxborough graduate. Please see our newly adopted AB Vision of a Graduate. The first deadline for submission is Friday, October 3. Read more about the process here, and please consider submitting a design for our Vision of a Graduate!
Senior Groups with Counselors and 12th Grade Parent/Caregiver College Night
This week, the 12th graders met with their counselors to discuss this school year and post-secondary planning. Additionally, Counselors Mr. Hitzrot and Ms. Rosenman presented at the 12th Grade College Night last night. Please find the slides from the evening here, and feel free to reach out to a student’s counselor for more information.
College Visit Calendar for Seniors - Reminder
We are pleased to host numerous college visits for our 12th graders. Dates can change, so it is a good idea to check the calendar periodically. Students are notified of the visit dates of colleges they have selected as being of interest to them in their SCOIR accounts. Before a visit, seniors should check in with their teachers. If there is a conflict or issue with missing a class, students can drop by quickly to introduce themselves to the Admission Counselor and return to class. Juniors may only attend these sessions if they have a free period. Please contact Ms. Holden-Webber at holden-webber@abschools.org with questions.
Senior Dues & T-Shirt Sizes
As mentioned in the Opening Day Senior Class assembly, Senior Dues ($200.00) pay for the following: Cap and Gown, High School Diploma, Senior T-Shirt, Yearbook, and a ticket to the Kimball Farm Outing. Senior Dues are required for all seniors. Follow this link to learn more about Senior Dues and to submit your t-shirt size.
Food and Personal Care Items Available at AB
Students in need of food or personal care items can access these items at no charge through the Food Pantry Outpost in the Counseling Center. Submit an order form online or see Ms. Holden-Webber in the Counseling Center. The Acton Food Pantry (including the Acton Community Supper) has been providing food assistance to residents of Acton and surrounding towns since 1984 and partnered with the high school in 2020 to provide in-school access to food pantry items.

If you require financial assistance, complete a request for a fee waiver as part of the registration process. We only offer this test for 11th graders. Please contact Shannon Dandridge at sdandridge@abschools.org if you have questions.
