Dr. JoAnn Campbell, Principal
JoAnn served as assistant principal at A-B from 2005-2008. She worked at Lexington High School for four years before returning to A-B to serve as assistant principal and currently, as principal. Previously, JoAnn taught English and Theater Arts and served as Director of the Office of Human and Civil Rights at Newton North High School. JoAnn is an adjunct instructor at Simmons College in Boston. She holds a B.A. in English and Theater from the University of Vermont, a MAT in Secondary Level English from Simmons College, and an Ed.D. from Boston University in Educational Leadership and Development with a concentration in the implementation of global education opportunities for students.
Larry Dorey, Associate Principal
Larry Dorey began at AB in 1994 as a school counselor and the Alternative Program Coordinator. He became an assistant principal in 1999. Mr. Dorey has his BA from Assumption College, a MA in Secondary School Counseling from Northeastern University, and a MA in Secondary School Administration from UMass Lowell.
As Associate Principal at ABRHS, Mr. Dorey partners with Ms. O’Grady and works with Ms. Chu, Ms. Harris, Ms. Pawlowska, and Ms. Thomas in the Counseling department to support students. Areas of responsibility include: master schedule, building operations, science and math liasson, and Attendance Review Board. Additionally, Mr. Dorey supports the STAR, REAL and Bridge programs.
Beth Baker, Associate Principal
Beth Baker received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts and her Master of Arts degree from the University of California At Berkeley. She began her career teaching English and reading at Jefferson High School in Northern California. In addition during the summers, she has worked for The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the University of California Berkeley, Lawrence Hall of Science, and Stanford University. She has worked at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School for the past eight years - as an English teacher, Academic Support Center Coordinator, Alternative Programs Coordinator, and now Associate Principal.
As the Associate Principal she works in close concert with Dean Steve Martin and counselors Jennifer Gabel, Todd Chicko, Stephen Hitzrot, Shannon Dandridge, and Sara Clinton to support students at the high school. As a team Ms. Baker, Mr. Martin, and the counselors meet regularly to discuss how to best support the students they work with. They work in concert as student needs arise -- providing a network for students in need of assistance. Additionally, Ms. Baker works closely to support the students and teachers in the schools three alternative programs - the 9th grade Transition program, MAP, and SWAP.
Steven Martin, Dean of Students
Steven Martin is in his second year as a Dean of Students here at Acton-Boxborough. Previously he was an Assistant Principal at Narragansett Regional Middle School. Mr. Martin has taught Business, Technology, Mathematics and Theater at both Marlborough and Hudson High School prior to becoming an administrator. He has BA from Assumption College, M.Ed from Framingham State in Curriculum and Instructional Technology, and is finishing his M.Ed from Northeastern University in Educational Leadership. He is a Graduate of the Greater Boston Principal’s Residency Network.
As Dean of Students at ABRHS, Mr. Martin partners with Ms. Baker and counselors Jennifer Gabel, Todd Chicko, Stephen Hitzrot, Shannon Dandridge, and Sara Clinton to support students. Mr. Martin coordinates the MCAS/PARCC testing and advisory at the high school.
Maurin O’Grady - Dean of Students
Maurin O'Grady received her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Emmanuel College and her Master's Degree in Teaching from Simmons College. After teaching high school English and Journalism, she earned her administrative license through the Commonwealth Leadership Academy in 2012. Prior to her work at ABRHS, Maurin was an English teacher at Melrose High School and Watertown High School. In addition to teaching, her extracurricular experience includes serving as newspaper and yearbook advisor, basketball and softball coach, class advisor, and others.
As Dean of Students at ABRHS, Maurin partners with Mr. Dorey and works with Ms. Chu, Ms. Harris, Ms. Pawlowska, and Ms. Thomas in the Counseling department to support students. In addition, she works with extracurricular organizations and activity planning.
